President Rodrigo Duterte continues to defy the odds arising from his various ailments, even outliving several of his classmates from elementary.
Duterte claimed on Friday (Sept. 10) that he’s the only person who’s alive out of his entire Grade 2 class. He made the remark as he encouraged the public to take precautions against COVID-19.
The President spent most of his elementary years at Santa Ana Elementary School in Davao City.
“Just be careful kasi talagang marami na akong nakilala na namatay. Sa probinsya ko, mga kababata ko nauubos na. Sa klase ko sa Grade 2, ako na lang naiwan. So patay na lahat,” Duterte said.
The President said the COVID-19 virus “will be here for the longest time” so people should learn to live with it.
