Poll workers, candidates now considered as APORs for COC filing

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has approved the inclusion of all Commission on Elections (Comelec) officials and employees as authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) from October 1 to 8 during the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC), Malacañang said Friday.

“Inaprubahan din ng inyong IATF na authorized persons outside of residence ang mga opisyal at mga empleyado ng Comelec kaugnay sa filing ng certificates of nomination at certificate of acceptance of nomination for party-list groups at certificates of candidacy at certificates of nomination at acceptance ng mga aspirants sa May 2022 elections,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced in a televised briefing.

Roque also said aspirants for elective positions, their accredited companions, political party chairpersons will also be considered APORs for the same period.

Meanwhile, the government’s Covid-19 task force also approved the inclusion of all researchers, workers, members and affiliate staff of the Solidarity Trial Vaccines Team as healthcare workers.

They will be allowed interzonal and intrazonal movement regardless of community quarantine classification and imposition of granular lockdowns, the Palace official said.

“Target participants and eligible patients who reside in areas under granular lockdowns may be allowed to leave their residences for purposes necessary for clinical trial but shall not leave the area under granular lockdown,” added Roque.
