Ready for 2022 polls? Yorme launches ‘Ako si Isko’ political ad

The presidential bid of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is apparently in the offing.

The Manila mayor has released a new political advertisement highlighting his humble beginnings and eventual rise to public service, a latest move that fueled speculations of his bid for the presidency in next year’s elections.

“Good morning Manila! Keep safe everyone! Kapit lang walang susuko! God first!” Manila mayor said on Facebook.

The fresh political ad, posted on the mayor’s Facebook page, highlights Isko’s struggle to rise from poverty, his decision to return to school, and eventually join public service.

The video uses an old speech of Mayor Isko to graduating students on how he worked to overcome challenges, including insults belittling his capability, to reach for his dreams. The mayor’s inspiring words are mouthed by ordinary Filipinos featured in the ad showing they too can withstand the odds and have a better life.

The latest ad of the Manila mayor ends with the people declaring “Ako si Isko, tayo si Isko.”

At present, Mayor Isko has not announced his plans for the 2022 elections even as he is considered among the preferred presidential contenders in recent polls. The mayor also now leads the Aksyon Demokratiko party founded by the late Senator Raul Roco.
