Robredo mourns death of Dinky Soliman: ‘Napakabuting tao’

Former Social Welfare Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman passed away Sunday at the age of 68.

Soliman’s passing triggered an outpouring of grief from family and friends. Among those saddened by Soliman’s death is Vice President Leni Robredo who remembered her as a good person.

“May napakalungkot na balita na natanggap na si former DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) Secretary Dinky Soliman, namayapa na ngayong umaga,” she said. “Nakakalungkot na balita ‘yung pagpanaw niya. Napakabuting tao.”

Robredo, in remembering Soliman’s kindness, said the former DSWD official devoted her life in serving the poor.

Soliman served as Secretary of the DSWD during the term of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo from 2001 to 2005. She held the same post during the administration of President Benigno Aquino III from 2010 to 2016.
