Unahin ang mahihirap! Duterte: Gov’t may start adult population vaccinations in October

By Prince Golez

Once the Covid-19 vaccine supply becomes more stable, President Rodrigo Duterte raised the possibility of vaccinating the country’s general adult population in October.

“I’d like the people to know that we are studying the possibility of vaccinating the general adult population as early as October if there is a stable vaccine supply,” Duterte said in his taped public address aired Tuesday morning.

“Kung merong nadagdag at kung kaya maabsorb ng gobyerno ang lahat ng tao na mabakunahan, we will start with baski sino na, general public. Pumunta ka na lang dun at magpaturok ka,” he added.

The President reiterated stand on prioritizing the poorest citizens for Covid-19 vaccination.

“Alam mo kasi ang iba, in far-flung areas of the country outside Metro Manila, there are a lot of Filipinos waiting to be vaccinated. Doon sa kanila, in their respective jurisdictions, I would suggest na unahin muna ninyo ang mahihirap, those who cannot really absorb to be traveling back and forth,” said Duterte.

“As a matter of fact, it would be nice of the government to go to their places, tutal alam naman naitn ang blighted areas, many of those ayaw o need to be convinced that there is a vaccine available and it is good for them,” he also said.
