Duterte assures efficacy of Covid-19 vaccines: Gusto nyo bakuna para sa rabies?

President Rodrigo Duterte again reminded Filipinos not to be choosy on Covid-19 vaccines, saying that population protection is a vital way of protecting people against the virus.

In his taped public address Tuesday, Duterte said available Covid-19 vaccines are proven to be safe and life-saving.

“Alam mo kung ang bakuna hindi effective, do you know that if these vaccines that we have been giving to the population are not really effective and right, marami ng patay ngayon,” the Chief Executive said.

“Ayaw ninyo ng bakuna, anti-rabies marami akong stock diyan ngayon. ‘Pag may rabies epidemic doon sa lugar ninyo, eh ‘di ‘yun na lang ang ipadala ko. Ayaw ninyo ng bakuna ng ano eh ‘di… Huwag kayong mamili kasi sinabi ko lahat ‘yan may bisa,” he added.

As of October 19, the Philippines has administered 52,783,354 doses of Covid-19 vaccine, of which 24,498,753 are fully vaccinated.
