President Rodrigo Duterte said he accepts responsibility for the supply shortage of Covid-19 vaccines in the Philippines early this year.
“Kung mayroon man nagkasala diyan, aminin ko na lang kasi wala man rin akong magawa. Gusto kong bumili, wala naman akong mabilihan,” Duterte said during his taped public address late Monday.
The Chief Executive lamented that wealthy nations cornered supplies of the vaccine.
“Kung makipag-contest ako doon sa mga mayaman sa bilihan ng bakuna, eh talagang huli ako. So ‘yan ang dapat ninyong maintindihan,” according to him.
