President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he made the right decision to retire from politics at the end of his term.
Duterte made the comment after Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque presented a Social Weather Stations survey showing a downward trend in the chief executive’s satisfaction rating in November 2020, May 2021 and June 2021.

“It’s still good but I think it’s time,” the President said during his taped public address.
“There’s always a time for everything. Even if you get a 64 rating, may panahon-panahon ang buhay. So, sa palagay ko, tama yung ginawa ko,” he added.
On Saturday, Duterte announced his retirement from politics, also dropping his bid for vice president in the 2022 national elections.
