The tax expert pointing out red flags in Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation’s financial statements at the Senate is a vocal supporter of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Abogado Ferdinand Topacio shared on Twitter a photo of certified public accountant Mon Abrea with Robredo, implying he’s someone being used by the opposition to destroy the administration.

An art card for the 2016 elections also quoted Abrea as saying he will vote for Robredo and her running mate, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, as vice president and president, respectively.

“I am voting for Roxas and vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo. I am taking my chances to work with them in pushing for a genuine tax reform—a simple, fair and equitable tax system,” Abrea said.

Abrea, a consultant of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) told the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee in its September 10 hearing that Pharmally’s financial statements were riddled with anomalies.

Among the alleged suspicious details he flagged were the award of multibillion-peso contracts to Pharmally despite having only P625,000 in capital, which he called “not normal.” He also questioned how the fledgling company was able to import goods when it “takes normally 2 to 3 years to establish your reputation to prove your financial capacity.”
