Kaya Third World pa rin tayo! JV says good performance, clean track record not priority in some Senate slates

Former Senator JV Ejercito is disappointed with the senatorial tickets endorsed by some political groups.

According to Ejercito, the country is stuck in the Third World status due to the poorly chosen senatorial bets for the 2022 elections.

JV, son of former President Joseph Estrada is seeking a Senate comeback in the 2022 elections. The former lawmaker is part of the senatorial lineup of presidential tandem Senators Panfilo Lacson and Tito Sotto.

“Just wondering what is the criteria for the selection of some groups for their candidates? Certainly good performance and clean track record are not priority. No wonder we are third world,” he tweeted.

Vice President Leni Robredo recently completed her 12-strong senatorial ticket, that included political foes and reelectionist senators. Labor leader Sonny Matula beat former Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Colmenares to the 12th spot in Robredo’s Senate slate.
