Senator Panfilo Lacson is not entirely living out his childhood dream.
When he was growing up, Lacson actually wanted to become a member of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
But fate had other plans for this politiko. He stumbled into applying at the Philippine Military Academy when he accompanied his friend. He passed the PMA entrance test but his friend didn’t.
Dito ako nakapagtapos kabilang sa ’Matatag’ Class of 1971. The rest is history,” he said.
Lacson shared his PMA graduation photo while talking about his dreams when he was young. The social media post carried the hashtags #PingLacson, #Matatag71 and #GwaPING.
Known for his anti-corruption advocacy, he has been a public servant for more than four decades. Before becoming a senator, Lacson served as the country’s police chief from 1999 to 2001.
Lacson, 73, is running for president in the 2022 elections with Senate President Tito Sotto as running mate.
