Labo-labong opposition! Demand for #DropTrillanes spikes over Colmenares’ exclusion from Robredo’s senatorial slate

Netizens are calling for the removal of former senator Antonio Trillanes IV from Vice President Leni Robredo’s senatorial ticket after ex-Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Neri Colmenares blamed the former soldier for his exclusion from the slate.

Colmenares told ANC’s “After the Fact” that the Makabayan bloc “never had a chance” to talk to Robredo about his inclusion in her senatorial ticket because of Trillanes.

“Nabanggit ‘yan, it was Sen. Trillanes… we would be happy if we could have sat down with the Vice President so they could discuss with us not just the platform but also the concerns and objections in full so we can respond naman,” he said.

Netizens were dismayed at Trillanes’ efforts to exclude Colmenares from Robredo’s slate.

“Proof? Can you show us the break down of votes? Sana binasa mo nang maigi ang statement ng ilang concerned orgs. You are causing disunity among the opposition. #DropTrillanes,” said @MangingisdaSays.

“Pag pasista, basura. #DropTrillanes,” @KasamangChad tweeted.

“Trillanes is proof that red-tagging and anti-left propaganda won’t stop even at Robredo’s administration. #DropTrillanes, #WeWantNeri,” said @Tobitochondria.

Some Twitter users, however, said #DropTrillanes is just a ploy to sow discord among supporters of the opposition.

“I hope Leni supporters would focus more on how Leni could win the election. If we trust Leni then we need to trust her decision. #DropTrillanes will do no good for Leni,” tweeted @MRose0624.

“What is this #DropTrillanes trend? Nope, I’m voting for Trillanes. He’s the only consistent opposition in the last 6 years. The Makabayan even supported Duterte in the beginning but they were in it for the ride, too,” said @VenNotBen.
