Another reunion between these two politikos is in the offing.

Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is planning to meet anew with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio after their encounter in Cebu province. Marcos promised to bring a bagful of pasalubong products from his home province of Ilocos Norte when he visits the Davao City mayor.

The presidential aspirant talked about his plans after thanking Mayor Sara for the bagful of Davao-made coffee and chocolate she gave during their Cebu meeting. The two had a chance meeting at the birthday gathering of Cong. Yedda Marie Romualdez, wife of House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, in Cebu last week.

“Maraming nagtanong sa akin. Ano ba yung regalong binigyang nya? Lahat ng produktong galing Davao don sa kanyang mga proyekto, iba’t-ibang livelihood project na ginagawa,” Marcos said on Facebook.

“Kailangan ko siyang balikan, dadalhan ko siya ng maraming bagnet at longanisa para naman makatikim ang ating mayorang tiga-Davao ng mga pagkaing galing Ilocos Norte,” he said.

Apart from joining Romualdez’s birthday celebration, Duterte and Marcos were also dinner guests of Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia. The two also had a separate closed-door meeting while visiting Cebu.

Mayor Sara, reluctant to seek the presidency, earlier disclosed that they discussed how her regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago can help push the presidential bid of Marcos in the 2022 elections.
