Palace sees downgrade in Metro Manila alert level after Oct. 15

By Prince Golez

There’s a “high chance” that Metro Manila will be placed under Alert Level 3 after October 15, Malacañang said Monday.

The capital region is currently under moderate risk for Covid-19 infections and on Alert Level 4 until Friday.

“I would say it’s a high chance of a lowering of alert level,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.

In an interview with CNN Philippines, OCTA Research said the seven-day average daily new cases in the National Capital Region has dropped below 2,000.

Cases could still decline to under 1,000 cases per day before the end of October, said OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David, adding that the reproduction number is only at 0.63.
