Dapat papasukin! Duque: ‘No vaccine, no entry’ illegal

By Billy Begas

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III on Thursday said that prohibiting an individual from entering a locality because he is not vaccinated against COVID-19 is not allowed.

During the deliberation of the House Committee on Appropriations, Masbate Rep. Narciso Bravo Jr., asked Duque about the government’s policy on vaccination.

Duque said that the vaccination remains not mandatory.

“Ito yung pinaka-concern ko kasi the province of Masbate, the provincial governor issued an Executive Order prohibiting entry of non vaccinated individuals ano po ang masasabi nyo dito?” Bravo asked.

Duque asked Bravo to send him a copy of the letter-complaint the solon sent to the regional director of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) regarding the matter.

Based on reports, some 250 passengers were stuck in a port in Albay after Masbate restricted the entry of unvaccinated individuals.
