There is a strong possibility that Metro Manila will further ease lockdown restrictions after October 31, Malacañang said Monday.
The National Capital Region is currently under Alert Level 3.
Citing the Department of Health, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the quarantine classification of Metro Manila may be downgraded to Alert Level 2 following a decline in Covid-19 cases.
“Ulitin ko lang po ‘yung sinabi ni Usec. (Rosario) Vergeire ‘no na malaki ang posibilidad na maibababa ang alert level kasi nga po nakikita natin ‘yung datos ay bumababa ‘no,” Roque said during his televised briefing.
“Fifty-two percent na po ‘yung ating two-week attack rate, tapos ‘yung ating average daily attack rate ay bumaba po nang 9.87, tapos ‘yung ating COVID bed utilization rate is now at 39 percent and 48 percent for ICU beds. So malaki po ‘yung possibility na bababa tayo ng alert level ‘no,” he added.
As of October 24, the Philippines has logged a total of 2,756,923 Covid-19 infections, of which 60,957 are active cases and 41,93 have died.
