Senator Koko Pimentel III on Wednesday shot down Senator Imee Marcos’ claim that the camp of her brother, former Senator Bongbong Marcos, is considering Senator Manny Pacquiao as his running mate.
“That may be part of psywar. Negative psychology. Also being VP is not on the radar of MP (Pacquiao),” he said.
“And then MP already has a serious partner and running mate in the person of LA (Lito Atienza),” Pimentel said in a message to reporters.
He said the ticket “must be ideologically consistent too.”
“MP and Marcoses are worlds apart in their analysis of what ails our country,” Pimentel said.
“That MP Express Train has left the station and will triumphantly arrive at its destination at the proper time,” he said.
Marcos told Teleradyo that her brother was considering Pacquiao to be his running mate because of his strength among Mindanao voters.
“Syempre taga-Mindanao din, kung magi-slide naman si Sen. Pacquiao. Taga-Mindanao din ‘yan, super popular din at kaibigan naman natin yan kahit na may pitik pitik lately,” she said.
