Harry Roque on Senate run: ‘Kung kinakailangang tumakbo muli, bakit hindi?’

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque will likely run for senator in the 2022 national polls.

In his lates vlog, Roque said he’s praying for a chance to continue the reforms undertaken by the present administration.

“Well, pinagdarasal po natin na sana po mabigyan tayo ng pagkakataon dahil nais natin ipagpatuloy ang nasimulan. Kung kinakailangang tumakbo muli, bakit hindi?” according to him.

“I know what it takes to be a successful legislator. Napatunayan ko na ‘yan. Record po ang nagawa ko as first termer (congressman). Pitong major bills ang naisabatas ko. Labing limang taon po akong nagturo ng batas. Siguro kaya ko gumawa ng batas. Aktibista rin po ako sa ninanais kong baguhin ng lipunan,” he added.

Roque previously said he would only run for a national post if Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio would seek the presidency.

Duterte-Carpio appeared to have abandoned her bid for the country’s top post by filing her candidacy for reelection.
