Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque attended on Thursday the inauguration of the Wellness Entertainment Sports Arena Mega Vaccination Hub in Brgy. Punturin, Valenzuela City.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, NTF Against Covid-19 chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr., and Mayor Rex Gatchalian among others also attended the ceremony.
“Magandang balita po ito sa target natin na population protection sa Metro Manila dahil alam natin na narito ang episentro ng Covid-19 at narito rin ang sentro ng komersyo at negosyo sa PIlipinas,” Roque said in a press briefing.
Galvez earlier said the government aims to complete the immunization of at least 80 percent of the country’s population by the first quarter of 2022.
He also admitted that they could inoculate only half of the target population of 77 million by year end to achieve herd immunity.
