Face mask is considered one of the most important accessories as protection against COVID-19 outbreak nowadays. And senatorial aspirant Atty. Chel Diokno, once ridiculed by President Duterte for his large teeth, is using his trademark smile printed on his face mask.
Diokno wore the amusing reusable mask with a caricature of his lower face when he filed his certificate of candidacy at the Commission on Elections on Thursday, October 7, 2021.
The human rights formally sought a fresh Senate bid after a failed candidacy in the 2019 elections. From the failed Otso Diretso slate three year ago, Diokno moved to Katipunan ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KANP) to pursue his senatorial candidacy.
Several months ago, President Duterte campaign against Diokno during the senatorial campaign and poked fun at his appearance, particularly his teeth. Diokno at the time was not offended by Duterte’s insults.
