Si PNoy nga bilib kay Ping eh! Kim Henares endorses Lacson for president

This yellow supporter isn’t turning pink for Leni Robredo.

Instead, former Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) commissioner Kim Henares has declared support for the presidential bid of Senator Panfilo Lacson in the 2022 elections.

The country’s former tax chief has trust and confidence in Lacson’s capability, including strength and discipline, to lead the country. She said the late President Noynoy Aquino believed in Lacson, and even tapped the senator back in 2013 to be the the rehabilitation czar who will oversee reconstruction in the regions that Supertyphoon Yolanda.

“I believe the next President will be inheriting and facing a lot of problems/challenges. More than what PNoy had to face. Therefore, we need someone who can hit the ground running, who have a clear vision on what he/she wants to do and have a clear plan on how to go about achieving this, and who can instill discipline in the bureaucracy (that has run wild),” she said.

“Furthermore, if PNoy thought Ping Lacson was worthy enough to help him during his administration, then I do not see why I should not consider him as my candidate,” she added.

In the same Facebook post, Henares listed essential qualities and vision plans that make Lacson deserving to be next president of the Filipino nation. She said Lacson has a clear plan for the country and can enforce discipline in government.

1.Knowledgeable on budget process

“Like PNoy, Senator Lacson is very concern and has a very clear idea about the budget process and its implementation,” Henares said.

He said Lacson wants the budget process to support the impact he wants to achieve by 2028 with clear input and outputs for each year. This will form basis for the appointment of people as well as the performance evaluation.

“The budget will support the things that need to be addressed – health, education, job, housing, industry and investment (both foreign and domestic),” she said.

Lacson has also backed the implementation of zero-based budgeting and bottom-up budgeting, according to Henares.

2.Advocate of public-private sector partnership

Henares said Lacson wants the government to come up with the plan and policies but leave the private sector to do what they do best.

“He wants the private sector to be able to participate in the projects and plans of the government putting forth clear do’s and don’ts (bring back the public-private partnership program of PNoy),” she said.

  1. Law enforcement

Henares said Lacson is pushing for laws and regulations to be less restrictive for easy public compliance. These laws must also have a mechanism that will allow the government to detect non-compliance and come down hard on people who do not comply.

4.Digitalization of government system

If elected president, Lacson also wants to implement a digitalization of the government process as well as interoperability of various government processes for easy and convenient access to and provide service to the people, according to Henares.

5.Strong and statesman

Henares said the country needs a leader “who is strong enough but who is statesmanlike to push back against China with regard to our sovereignty.”

She said these are among the few plans of Lacson if elected a six-year term in Malacañang. “It is clear he has a plan for governing. And this is the reason why I am supporting Ping Lacson,” she said.
