Sotto to Pharmally execs: Comply with subpoenas, read the Constitution

Senate President Tito Sotto on Friday advised Pharmally executives to comply with subpoenas issued by the Senate blue ribbon committee instead of evading arrest.

“To cooperate in the Senate means they should submit the documents subject of sub poena duces tecum or as asked by a senator,” the Senate leader said.

“I suggest they read the PH Constitution!” Sotto added.

Pharmally’s corporate secretary Mohit Dargani issued a statement on Friday accusing the Senate blue ribbon committee of treating the company’s officers like criminals for political gain.

“The blue ribbon failed to treat us justly. Rather than impartially listening to us, they tried to get us to incriminate ourselves,” he said in a statement.

The Senate has issued an arrest order for Dargani and his sister Twinkle Dargani but the two have evaded the Senate sergeant at arms.

“They want us detained because we asserted our rights, they can’t get what they want to hear from us,” Dargani said.

“Walang kinalaman ang Presidente sa transactions namin with PS-DBM. We are being falsely accused for political gain. Malapit na eleksyon and we are like hostages. Hindi na para sa bayan. But for their political survival,” he added.
