‘Wag ‘yang pabalik-balik! Duterte tells voters: Try to scout new faces

President Rodrigo Duterte urged the electorate on Tuesday to “scout new faces” in next year’s elections.

Duterte discouraged Filipinos from voting the same old faces.

“Mga kababayan ko, dito tayo sa kampo ng tama. Huwag kayo doon sa kampo ng mali. ‘Pag ka sabihin ko sa inyo lalo na sabihin ko sa iyo mamili kayo ng bagong mga opisyal, senador, basta ‘yung bago. Hindi naman kailangan wala talaga hindi sa gobyerno,” the President said in his taped public address.

“They might be government officials, past or present, but try to scout new faces. Huwag ‘yang pabalik-balik, susmaryosep,” he added.

Prior to winning the presidency, Duterte served as mayor of Davao City for more than 22 years.
