‘Bangon bayan muli’: Marcos Jr ditches red for blue in new ‘unity’ political ad

For this presidential contender, blue is the color of unity.

Former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is stepping up his campaign for the presidency with the release of a new political advertisement.

Instead of the red associated with his family, Marcos has chosen blue as new campaign color as he talks about Filipinos’ unity and strength to attain a better future in his latest campaign ad. The video, currently spreading on social media, uses the popular Filipino song “Umagang Kay Ganda.”

The ad starts with shots of the windmills in Marcos’ home province of Ilocos before the former senator appears and plucks a windmill like a flower. The white windmill, now smaller, is passed on to other Filipinos as Marcos shares about Filipinos’ aspiration for a better life.

“Para sa iyo ang pag-ikot ng panahon laging may magandang umaga baon may kabuhayan, may kinabukasan dahil sabay-sabay tayong lahat na babangon,” Marcos says in the ad.

“Sa pag-ikot ng panahon, hindi tayo titigil kailanman. Sama-sama tayo para umangat ang bayan. Bongbong Marcos po ito. Bangon bayan muli.”

Marcos, in his bid for the presidency, has promised to provide the country a unifying leadership. His running mate is President Duterte’s daughter Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.

A copy of Marcos’ new ad has been posted by DRPS-One on its YouTube channel. It earned more than 140,000 views as of Tuesday.
