Courting the OFW vote: Marcos Jr plans to visit Filipinos abroad

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will be bringing his 2022 campaign abroad when the pandemic situation has improved.

Marcos talked about his planned trips to meet with the Filipino community abroad after groups of overseas Filipino workers expressed support ahead of the polls. The former senator is grateful for the support as he posted on Instagram photos of OFW supporters from Canada, Chile, Kuwait, Hong Kong, and Italy.

“Nakakataba ng puso makita ang suporta ng ating mga kababayan sa iba’t ibang bansa!” Marcos wrote on Instagram.

“Kapag mas maayos na ang sitwasyon at may pagkakataon, ay isa-isa ko po kayong dadalawin para makapagkita naman tayo! Maraming salamat po!” he said.

The son and namesake of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos is running for president in 2022 elections. He will competing against rivals including Vice President Leni Robredo, Senators Panfilo Lacson, Manny Pacquiao and Ronald dela Rosa, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, and labor leader Leody de Guzman.
