Gibo Teodoro proposes OFW insurance: Health, welfare garantisado kahit saan man sila sa mundo

Former Defense Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro is fighting for the rights and welfare of Filipinos working abroad.

Teodoro, a senatorial aspirant in the 2022 elections, presented his pro-OFW platform that includes providing insurance for these migrant workers.

“Insurance for OFWs. Kailangan garantisado din po ang ating health and welfare kahit po nasaan tayo,” he said on Facebook.

Last year, President Duterte suspended the increase in premium contributions of OFWs to the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) amid COVID-19 pandemic. Concerned agencies have also been directed to make the payment of premiums voluntary for departing OFWs as the nation struggles with the pandemic.
