The camp of presidential candidate and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has granted him more time to respond to the disqualification case against him.
“Comelec granted us an extension to reply to the petition,” Marcos spokesperson Vic Rodriguez said in interview over CNN Philippines on Thursday (Nov. 18).
“We were given seven days from yesterday,” he added.
Several petitions have been filed against Marcos that his sought his disqualifcation to run for the presidency due to his conviction for tax offenses.
The case has been raffled with the COMELEC Second Division which issued him a summons that required him to answer the petition within an “inextendible” five days from notice.
