President Rodrigo Duterte’s spiritual adviser, pastor Apollo Quiboloy, claimed that the new, highly transmissible Omicron variant of COVID-19 was a consequence of the “persecution” he’s experiencing amid the sex trafficking charges he’s facing in the United States.
In a televised sermon Sunday (November 28), Quiboloy warned that the world would see “much worse than the Omicron variant” if his supposed persecution doesn’t stop.
“The Delta virus variant of COVID-19 is only an introduction. If you keep on hurting, persecuting, and harming the Appointed Son and the Kingdom, you will see much more worse than the Omicron variant,” said Quiboloy, who calls himself the “appointed Son of God” and founded the religious group, Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
“Judgment is upon this earth today. The way you treat the Appointed Son is the way the world is going to receive this judgment,” the pastor added.
Quiboloy is facing sex trafficking charges in the US, with American prosecutors accusing him of abusing victims as young as 12 years old.
