Sara Duterte on choosing Frasco as spox: Mas magaling siya kaysa sa akin

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio is the first to admit her spokesperson is more competent than she is.

Mayor Sara is all praises for Mayor Christina Garcia-Frasco of Liloan City, Cebu after she recently joined Lakas-CMD party she currently chairs. Frasco, also Duterte’s spokesperson, is the daughter of Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

“Marami ang nagtatanong bakit si Mayor Christina ang aking spokesperson, sagot ko lagi, dahil alam ko mas magaling siya kesa sakin,” the Davao mayor said on Facebook.

The President’s daughter, a vice president aspirant in the 2022 polls, thanked Frasco for becoming a Lakas party member. She said they are not only good friends but have become political allies.

“Maraming salamat Mayor Christina Frasco sa iyong pagsali sa Lakas CMD. Nakakataba ng puso na isa sa mga hinahangaan ko na Mayor ay ngayon kapatid ko na di lang sa personal na pagiging magkaibigan kundi pati na rin sa pulitika,” she said.

Frasco, an Ateneo law graduate, also shared an appreciation post for Mayor Sara on Facebook. She has also endorsed the presidential bid of former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the upcoming polls.

“I join our next Vice President as she and BBM-SARA Uniteam carry forward the hopes and aspirations of our fellow Filipinos for a stronger and more prosperous nation!Thank you, Mayor Sara, for the very warm welcome into LAKAS, and thank you also to Cong. Duke Frasco and House Majority Floor Leader Martin Romualdez.,” Frasco said.

In another Facebook post, Frasco explained that her support for Marcos’ presidential run was made in her capacity was as president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines-Cebu. The group consists of Cebu’s 44 municipalities.

“I fully respect the process of One Cebu Party, which has yet to give its endorsement to a Presidential candidate. With deference to the leadership of One Cebu, my hope is that the BBM-Sara Uniteam would be given serious consideration.,” she said.
