‘You wanna play hardball? We play hardball’: Pharmally execs Ong, Mohit Dargani bound for Pasay City jail

The Senate blue ribbon committee ordered the transfer to the Pasay City Jail Friday (November 26) of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation director Linconn Ong and corporate secretary and treasurer Mohit Dargani after senators got fed up with their supposed lies.

Before senators suspended the hearing on the government’s pandemic supply contracts, they asked Ong and Dargani to provide the location of documents regarding Pharmally’s financial statements.

The two officials claimed to be clueless about the documents’ location. Dargani asked Senator Richard Gordon, the committee chairman, if he could talk to Ong, their lawyers and accountants about the matter.

However, Senator Francis Pangilinan said Dargani’s suggestion was just an “attempt to delay and mislead and fool this committee” since he had said he didn’t know where the documents were stored.

It was at this point that the committee chairman, Senator Richard Gordon, ordered the transfer of Ong and Dargani to the Pasay City Jail.

“You wanna play hardball, we play hardball…They are not cooperating. Again, they think that they can talk their way out of this by lying their way through this. We will bring them over to the Pasay City Jail,” he added.

Another Pharmally executive, Twinkle Dargani, will remain detained at the Senate premises since her brother claimed she has mental health issues.

Dargani appealed that he be allowed to look for the documents until Saturday (November 27). His request was granted but Gordon said that if they fail to submit the papers required by the committee, the Pharmally executives will go straight to the Pasay City Jail.

“Tomorrow, I make a security escort to take you to wherever he feels the boxes are there. I don’t believe he doesn’t know it. He is not stupid. He pretends to be stupid,” Gordon added.
