Back on air on Marcos Jr’s first 100 days? Imee supports ABS-CBN reopening if…

Senator Imee Marcos is open to granting ABS-CBN a new franchise if “all the problems” that prevented the network’s franchise renewal bid from succeeding are resolved.

In an interview on ANC’s “Headstart” Tuesday (December 21), Marcos said she’s “very open minded” about bringing ABS-CBN back on free television because of the good working relationship she enjoyed with Federico “Piki” Lopez, chairman and CEO of Energy Development Corporation, when she was governor of Ilocos Norte.

Lopez is a director of ABS-CBN Corporation.

Recalling how Lopez acceded to her requests for help for schools and even planting of trees, Marcos said: “Every single thing, they’ve said yes to.”

“To my mind, under the new construct defined by law, and all the problems have already been revealed, once it solves all that, para sa ‘kin, walang problema buksan yan, first 100 days para makita na natin,” the senator added.
