Magulang may kasalanan! Roque clears Marcos Jr from corruption, human rights violation cases

Senatorial aspirant Harry Roque cleared former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. from any ongoing case involving corruption and violation of human rights, saying it’s the latter’s parents facing charges.

In an interview on One News’ “Sa Totoo Lang” Thursday (December 2), Roque said Marcos wasn’t named as respondent in any of the cases decided by the Supreme Court about the ill-gotten wealth amassed by the Marcoses.

“Sa mga kaso na nadesisyunan ng Korte Suprema na nagsasabing pamilya Marcos ay may nakaw na yaman, wala pong kahit anong kaso na binabanggit si Bongbong Marcos. Ang binabanggit po ay ang mag-asawang Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos,” he said.

Roque, who’s running for senator under Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, said the former senator wasn’t named as respondent even in cases faced by the Marcoses in the United States.

He claimed to have done due diligence on Marcos, saying he found no other pending case against the presidential aspirant apart from his conviction for tax evasion in 1995.

“[N]a-confirm ko po in my due diligence na wala pong kaso laban kay Bongbong Marcos sa katiwaliaan o sa paglabag sa karapatang pantao,” Roque said.

The former Malacañang spokesperson called Marcos the “most qualified” out of all presidential aspirants, citing his experience as Ilocos Norte governor for four terms.
