Vice President Leni Robredo’s heart is full after receiving a surprise serenade from her supporters in Iloilo province.
The presidential aspirant was visiting Iloilo City to rally support ahead of the 2022 elections when her pink army greeted her and sang “Hawak Kamay.” The kakampinks were mostly wearing white shirts and pink face masks during their outdoor rendition of Yeng Constantino’s song.
“Starting Day 2 in Iloilo with a surprise harana,” Robredo tweeted on December 4, 2021.
Robredo got a warm welcome from the Ilonggos during her visit to the city. Part of the veep’s hectic schedule was a biking event. Robredo rode a bike along with other riders to celebrate the Most Bicycle-Friendly City 2021 from Mobility Awards and Best in Bike Lanes 2021 award won by Iloilo.
Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, who has declared support for Robredo’s presidential bid, said he was overwhelmed by Ilonggos’ love for the vice president.
“I have never in my political career since 1986 such energy , such love and such volunteerism as I have seen today . I am overwhelmed by the love and welcome by the ilonggos for vp Leni,” he tweeted.
Robredo commented: “Thank you for the love and support, Iloilo.”
