Senatorial aspirant Greco Belgica is giving priority to the relief operations for typhoon-hit communities over his campaign efforts.
Belgica, former anti-corruption commissioner, has traveled Southern Leyte and saw first-hand the destruction caused by typhoon Odette. He said the people of the province were in need of food and water.
Southern Leyte is among the areas placed under a state of calamity due to the onslaught of Typhoon Odette last week.
“Tigil muna kampanya, tulong muna sa nasalanta!Dito po tayo ngayon sa Leyte. Isa sa pinaka tinamaan ng bagyong Odette. Lubha pong napaka laki ng pinsala dito. Kelangan po nila ng pagkain at tubig,” Belgica said on Facebook.
Belgica and his team have launched a relief operation for the typhoon victims. Food, water, clothes, hygiene kits, and other relief goods can be donated to this relief mission, he added.
“Maari po kayong magpadala ng tulong sa kanila sa ating HQ. Oplan Tabang: A Relief Operations for Typhoon Odette Victims ‘Bayanihan at Pagbibigayan sa Panahon ng Pangangailangan,” he said.
“Kami ay kumakatok sa inyong mga puso para sa anumang karagdagang donasyon tulad ng pagkain, tubig, damit, hygiene kits at iba pa na maaaring maipamahagi sa ating mga kapatid na nangangailangan,” he said.
