Kristoffer James “Toby” Purisima has been relieved from his post as Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), Malacañang said Friday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that Purisima was dismissed for lack of trust and confidence.
“The Palace confirms that Office of the Civil Defense Assistant Secretary Kristoffer James Purisima has been relieved from his post effective immediately due to loss of trust and confidence,” Roque said in a statement.
Purisima previously served as spokesperson for Bangon Marawi, which oversees the rebuilding of the war-torn Islamic city.
The OCD was recently tasked to receive and coordinate donations of medicines and medical supplies to the government.
