Lunukin mo ‘yung germs na inubo mo! Sanitize, practice cough etiquette, Duterte tells public

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte urged the public to observe proper cough etiquette to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus disease.

Late Tuesday, Duterte asked people to cover their mouths with a handkerchief when coughing.

“Pakiusap ako sa labas, sundin lang po ninyo ‘yung masks at saka ‘yung pag-ubo, magdala ka, magbili kayo ng panyo maski ‘yang murahin lang tapos try to cover, kung may sipon ka o ubo ka, try to cover your mouth bago ka…,” the President said during his pre-recorded public address.

“At saka medyo patagalin mo nang kaunti, ‘wag mo kaagad… Siguro mabuti niyan lunukin mo ‘yung germs na inubo mo para — swallow it back so that it will not contaminate others,” he also said.

To protect against the disease, Duterte also advised everyone to clean hands with alcohol-based handrubs.

“Every time that you feel like touching something or maski ano — wala mang handshaking, ba-bye, ba-bye man lang. Kung mag-galaw-galaw ka, before you touch your nose, eyes, mag-alcohol ka muna. Of course, it will dry your hands but that’s only temporary,” according to him.
