The public school teacher who offered P50 million to anyone who would kill President Rodrigo Duterte must be prosecuted, Malacañang said.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) earlier arrested 25-year-old Ronnel Mas, a Social Studies teacher at the Taltal National High School, in Sta. Cruz, Zambales after posting on the Twitter website that “I will give P50 Million reward kung sino makakapatay kay Duterte.”
“Dapat talagang pino-prosecute ‘yun. Bakit pa tayo gumawa ng batas kung hindi ipatutupad ‘yan?” Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo said in an interview on dzRH Wednesday.
“Basta may nagbanta sa isang opisyal ng bansa, pwede ‘yun. Kung may magreklamo at mahuli, we need to prosecute,” added Panelo.
Mas was brought to NBI headquarters in Manila where he set to undergo inquest for inciting to sedition in relation to the anti-cybercrime law, and violation of the Code of the Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials.
