National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Debold Sinas partied with cops at Camp Bagong Diwa on May 8 to celebrate his birthday despite a ban on mass gatherings while Metro Manila is under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
NCRPO posted photos of Sinas’ birthday celebration on its Facebook page with the caption, “Happy Birthday, Sir Dodong!” The event was called a “mañanita” or early birthday morning serenade.
One of the photos showed Sinas without a mask blowing the candles on his birthday cake. Other pictures showed the cops sitting close to one another around tables as they ate, in violation of the protocol on social distancing.
The cops also didn’t mind standing close to one another while waiting for Sinas and holding the tarpaulin for his birthday.
The Facebook post was no longer available as of Wednesday, May 13.
