President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday met with officers of the Philippine Army and Philippine Air Force at the Malago clubhouse inside Malacañang Park.
In a message, Duterte thanked the troops for their service to the nation amid the challenges brought on by the coronavirus disease.
“Saludo ako [sa] ginawa ninyo,” the President said.
“I’m not paying you. I know that you are not mercenaries. You do not do it for money. You do it out of passion for the love of country because we are all Filipinos and we know where to place ourselves when the time comes,” he added.
Also present during the event were Senator Christopher Go and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.
