Local officials who are misappropriating funds meant for poor Filipinos affected by the coronavirus disease pandemic will be jailed, Malacañang said.
In a virtual presser Monday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque encouraged the public to report to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) anomalies in the distribution of cash assistance under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte offered a P30,000 reward for anyone who can give information on local government officials stealing financial aid meant for the poor.
Beneficiaries under the SAP receive cash assistance ranging from P5,000 to P8,000 during the lockdown to mitigate the socio-economic impact of the health crisis.
