Amid the government’s efforts in addressing the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), President Rodrigo Duterte appealed to the opposition to stop politicking.
“Isa lang ang mensahe ng Presidente: itigil ang politika sa panahon ng Covid-19,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Monday.
Roque assured the public that the government remains on top of the Covid-19 threat.
“Hindi tumitigil ang binabato nila sa atin. May kakulangan daw, may kulang daw. Tinanong ano ang kulang, ibibigay namin sa ‘yo. Walang ibibinibigay kung ano ang kakulangan. Pero sagutin po natin. Tama ba ang mga hakbang na ginawa ng gobyerno? Opo,” according to him.
Vice President Leni Robredo earlier lamented that there was not enough information on the country’s response to the pandemic.
“Hindi po tayo perpekto. We could have done better pero narito na po tayo and one thing I can assure you the President did the very best that he can and we are in control of the situation,” Roque said.
