MalacaƱang on Wednesday said the government will set aside P17 billion for the hiring of 50,000 contact tracers to boost its response to the coronavirus disease pandemic.
The amount will be included in the pending stimulus package bill, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
President Rodrigo Duterte, he added, will soon call for a special session to pass the proposed Bayanihan to Recover as One Act.
Congress is currently in recess and will resume session when Duterte delivers his fifth State of the Nation Address this month.
