Malacañang assured that the government will assist in the repatriation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the coronavirus disease pandemic.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque appealed for patience as he cited travel restrictions from other countries, particularly Kuwait.
“Gagawin po ng gobyerno ang lahat ng magagawa natin para mapauwi na po ang lahat ng gustong umuwing mga OFWs,” Roque said in a virtual presser aired on state-run PTV-4 Saturday.
“Pero intindihin ninyo lang po dahil naka-lockdown pa po ang karamihan ng mga bansa sa Gitnang Silangan kasama na po ang Kuwait.
“Meanwhile po, kung mayroon po kayong mga pangangailangan, pumunta po kayo sa POLO office o ‘di naman kaya sa embahada natin diyan sa Kuwait,” he also said.
