The national government has permitted mass gatherings in colleges and universities in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases said in Resolution No. 47 that the prohibition on mass gatherings in higher education institutions (HEIs) is deleted.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, however, said that strict compliance with the existing quarantine rules under MGCQ is required.
“Pinayagan na rin ang mass gathering sa higher educational institutions ngunit kailangan silang sumunod sa existing guidelines sa ilalim ng MGCQ,” added Roque.
Only religious services and work conferences were previously allowed in MGCQ areas.
