This month marks the return of the Ford F-150 to the Philippine market. The big, bold, and brash full-sized pickup truck will join the likes of the Mustang, Explorer, and Expedition as build-up units sourced from North America.
With Ford Philippines revealing zero info yet, speculation is high on what sort of specs the F-150 will have. Peering into our crystal ball (and a bit of photoshopping), it’s clear we don’t be getting the big daddy, the F-150 Raptor. Instead, based on the sheer amount of chrome, it looks to be a higher-trimmed F-150, likely to be called Limited.
Given the niche positioning of the F-150, Ford will likely offer it with a single powertrain: a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. If that’s the case, it will get 375 horsepower and 672 Nm of torque. The sole transmission will be a 10-speed automatic. It will likely have four-wheel drive, and with that, the real-time Terrain Management System.
The F-150 will measure in at almost 6 meters in length (5,907 mm), 2,083 mm in width, and 1,954 mm in height. Its wheelbase is at a stout 3,685 mm. Ground clearance is at 208 mm, while approach angle is at 25.8 degrees and departure angle at 21.2 degrees.
In terms of features, it won’t be surprising if Ford opts to fully load the F-150. We think it’ll have chrome 20-inch wheels with 275/55 R 20 tires, a sunroof, SYNC 3 with a 10-speaker B&O sound system, wood grain paneling, dual-zone climate control, power adjustable front seats, a 360-degree camera, and active park assist.
It’s a shoe-in that the F-150 will get a full set of airbags, ABS with EBD, and stability control, but we’re hoping Ford Philippines goes up a notch and plops in the Ford Co-Pilot 360 system which adds lane keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking, and full-speed adaptive cruise control.
Ford Philippines will be holding the formal launch next week.
