The holding of cockfighting and operation of cockpits, beerhouses, nightclubs are still barred in areas placed under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases said.
Based on the IATF Resolution No. 56 issued last July 16, establishments whose primary business is the serving of alcoholic drinks remain prohibited in MGCQ areas.
The latest reso also authorized the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to issue a negative list of industries that shall remain closed even in areas under the most relaxed quarantine classification.
“Establishments in the negative list shall not be allowed to operate in any form of community quarantine,” it said.
The task force, meanwhile, directed the DTI to recategorize certain industries for the resumption of their operations or gradual increase of operating capacity of industries allowed in areas under general community quarantine.
“The DTI, in consultation with the Department of Finance, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Tourism is hereby authorized to gradually recategorize industries from Category IV to Category III as may be deemed necessary,” a portion of the Resolution No. 56 stated.
The resumption of, or gradual increase in operating capacity, and continued operations of Category III industries must be subject to their compliance with the proper health protocols.
