The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) has formed a Covid-19 Response Team to address the agency’s rising number of infections.
In a statement released on Sunday, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the PCOO has recorded a total of 19 Covid-19 active cases as of 2:10 p.m. today.
The response team, according to Andanar, will coordinate all of the office’s efforts on contact tracing, testing, monitoring, and isolation.
“It is comprised of select Covid-19 Warriors from every office within PCOO, who will serve as focal/point persons for all of the Covid-19 related efforts of PCOO,” he added.
While Radio Television-Malacanang (RTVM) will be under a two-week lockdown after two of its personnel tested positive, the PCOO chief assured that it’s all systems go for President Rodrigo Duterte’s 5th State of the Nation Address tomorrow.
“RTVM will be deploying a different team composed of individuals who had no contact with the infected personnel. A contingency plan is also being put into place,” Andanar also said.
The PCOO earlier suspended physical work at the New Executive Building and adopted work-from-home arrangement due to safety concerns.
