Metro Manila will likely remain under general community quarantine (GCQ) after June 15, according to Malacañang.
During his online press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque raised the possibility that GCQ would still be imposed over the National Capital Region due to rising coronavirus cases.
“Lilinawin ko lang po na bagamat wala pa pong desisyon, ang Presidente mag-i-issue. Datos po ang tinitignan natin kung tayo po ay luluwag,” said Roque.
“At this point, the data does not indicate na puwede magluwag at least sa Metro Manila, para lang po to manage expectations,” he also said.
Meanwhile, Roque said that President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to announce his decision on the classification of areas under community quarantine on Wednesday.
“Possible pong Miyerkules maaanunsyo ang classification dahil meron pa pong last meeting ang IATF bukas, araw ng Tuesday, para sa final recommendation sa Presidente,” he added.
