JV Ejercito vouches for integrity of Carlo Katigbak: Sadly he inherited probably faults of former ABS executives

Is ABS-CBN president Carlo Katigbak the best boss ever?

Former Senator JV Ejercito is amazed by the integrity and calm demeanor of Katigbak after he was grilled by congressmen during the hearing on the franchise application of the Kapamilya network.

In a series of tweets, Ejercito praised Katigbak for his poise and composure despite the past hurt inflicted by the Lopez-owned network on his family. Ejercito and Katigbak were schoolmates at Xavier School in San Juan, Manila.

“I may never be one of the favorites of ABS-CBN, but I am very proud of my Xavier batchmate Carlo Katigbak for having the poise and composure in facing the very tough hearings. Luceat Lux Bro!” he tweeted.

Ejercito posted another tweet about Katigbak, saying he could attest to the man’s integrity.

“Growing up and learning together since nursery to high school, I can vouch for his integrity and character,” he said. “Sad to say he inherited probably the past shortcomings or faults of former executives of ABS,” he said.

Ejercito also found unfair attacks against the network, particularly the personal grudges hurled by some lawmakers.

“Naging labasan mga tinatagong personal na galit ang dapat sana ay hearing. Parang may mali,” he said.

He said ABS-CBN has to respond to some allegations but the hearing should be used to vent personal anger against the station. The former senator believes that Filipinos should not be deprived of the network’s services.

“Kung mayroon mang dapat na kimkim na galit sa ABS-CBN, malamang dapat ako kasama dahil nabago ang buhay namin. Malaki papel ng ABS dito. Pero ang kasalanan ng nakaraan, ay walang kinalaman ang kasulukuyang namumuno,” he said.

“Hindi pa rin dapat pagkaitan ang Pilipino ng libangan,” Ejercito said.

ABS-CBN went off air after the government regulatory agency issued a closure order last May. Bills seeking to renew the franchise of the network have remained pending in the Lower House.
