At least for now, Sen. Panfilo Lacson is not keen on taking legal action against a blogger for her malicious blog post against him.
Lacson said, however, that he can only hope “investigative journalist” Raissa Robles rectifies her blog post claiming Lacson sneaked in a section into the Anti-Terrorism Law.
“Hindi ako nag-iisip mag-file ng cyberlibel o kung ano pa man vs Ms Raissa. Ang gusto ko lang maunawaan niya na mali ang kanyang isinulat. At sana i-rectify naman niya dahil talagang mali ang sinulat niya. Ngayon kung ayaw niya i-rectify, nasa konsensya na niya yan,” Lacson said in an interview on DWIZ radio.
He also noted he is not the vindictive type, having filed a libel suit against the Philippine Daily Inquirer in 2001 only because its articles linked him to various serious crimes. He dropped the suit after the Inquirer apologized.in May 2019.
Earlier, Lacson branded as malicious and wrong Robles’ blog post claiming he sneaked in a supposedly dangerous “Section 25” into the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.
But Lacson noted there was no such stealthy move, adding Section 25, which provides a mechanism to trigger the freezing of suspected terrorist accounts, went through the regular legislative process.
